If you live in California, you will often see the iconic bright yellow Mystery Spot bumper sticker. It’s not only a tourist attraction, but a must-see for the locals. If you aren’t a Californian, but visiting, you must add it to your trip itinerary.
Located in the Santa Cruz mountains, nestled in between the redwoods, is a small spot that continues to mystify its visitors. The site was first discovered by surveyors, then later open to the public in 1941. This spot is a circular area about 150 feet in diameter. Within this mystery spot, several anomalies take place. You may start to feel dizzy, get a light-headed sensation, or feel a force trying to push you. Compasses are not accurate and your perception becomes challenged in many ways, such as with height and gravity.
There’s a small slanted house built in the center of this area. All of the trees around this house only grow at an angle toward it. A leveler will read at center, but the house itself, and the ground, appears crooked. A tall person can look short, while the short seem tall. Water will flow upwards instead of downwards. A ball placed on the bottom of a beam will roll up, instead of down. You can hang from the wall, and stand on top of a table while seemingly looking to be completely slanted forwards.
These types of demonstrations leave you perplexed. How can the laws of physics and
gravity be altered in this one spot? Are we in reality?
There are many theories of what is causing the high strangeness in this circular area.
“Some speculate that cones of metal were secretly brought here and buried in our earth as guidance systems for their spacecraft. Some think that it is in fact the spacecraft itself buried deep within the ground. Other theories include carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a hole in the ozone layer, a magma vortex, the highest dielectric biocosmic radiation known anywhere in the world, and radiesthesia. Whatever the cause is, it remains a mystery.” – MysterySpot.com
I have toured this area twice, and every time I come to the same conclusion- there HAS to be a spaceship buried under there. Of course that’s why the area of effect is a
random circular area in the redwoods! It has to be aliens!
You might find that typical from a UFO-enthusiast, but I don’t always wear a tinfoil hat. Outsiders would be surprised to know that many of us are quite skeptical and objective toward celestial affairs.
Having said that- I can’t buy the skeptic’s explanation that it’s the art of illusion and
magic tricks to keep tourist’s cash flowing in. I’m no scientist, but the palpable energy
felt inside this location is undeniable. Leaving me to think there’s more to the story than a mundane explanation. It’s still a mystery. A highly paranormal mystery.
If you’re visiting the area, and have 45 minutes to kill on a tour, go experience this
historical landmark and decide for yourself. There’s a hiking trail if you want to spend
more time in the gorgeous redwoods, and there’s a great souvenir shop. Oh, and while
you’re there-don’t forget to grab that yellow bumper sticker.
