Dr. Diana Pasulka

Diana Walsh Pasulka is a Professor of Religious Studies in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and its former Chair. Her research spans Catholic history to modern day reports of UAPs and UFOs. She has published widely on the intersections of technology and religion. Her recent book American Cosmic: UFOs, Religion, and Technology by Oxford University Press, an Amazon bestseller, has received critical acclaim. Walsh Pasulka has written for publications such as VICE, VOX, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and numerous other venues. She has been interviewed by Fox News, Oxford University Press, Coast to Coast AM, and Publishers Weekly, among others.

Dr. Pasulka has spoken to audiences at Harvard University, the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, Syracuse University and has been invited to the Commonwealth Club in Silicon Valley to speak about her work regarding religion, technology, and UFOs. Ongoing research projects include managing a multi-year translation project which began at the Archivio Segreto Vaticano (The Vatican Secret Archives) and Specola Vaticana (the Vatican Space Observatory) and currently being conducted by scholars at Rice University. The project involves translating the canonization records of St. Joseph of Coptertino and Sr. Mary of Agreda, Sixteenth Century Catholics who are alleged to have levitated. Another aspect of her research involves working with communities of “experiencers,” including those affiliated with the military, as well as scientists who study the phenomena.

Dr. Pasulka also applies and conducts her research within entertainment media. She has been the religion and history consultant for movies and television, including The Conjuring (2013). Her book American Cosmic has been optioned by CTV and Circle of Confusion.
