On September 15^th, 2011, Chuck Zukowski released his captivating proposal of the “37^th Degree Latitude Theory” on his website.  His research and investigations on UFOs and animal mutilations started unveiling a linear pattern across the United States, a literal highway with the 37^th degree latitude – being the center line dipping into the 38 and 36. What was even more extraordinary was the association and nature of the sites along this pattern, which included: Dulce Base, the Aztec crash, and Taos hum in Nevada, the Mantell UFO encounter in Kansas, the Greenbrier bunker in Virginia, and famed, Area 51 in Nevada to name a few.

Cattle Mutilations occurring on the 37^th from Colorado to Kansas, to Missouri, all within days of each other, was another pattern he sought to unveil.  Zukowski briefly talked about his theory in 2013 on an episode for Science Channel’s Unexplained Files Season 1, and as a result of the viewers’ response, the Science Channel called him back and asked him to do a full episode on his theory for Season 2. The one-hour episode, “Paranormal Highway of America,” was one of the season’s highest-rated episodes.

A famous Hollywood producer, Beau Flynn, saw the episode and contacted Chuck Zukowski about doing a movie about his theory and his life as a UFO investigator. Beau commissioned famed writer Ben Mezrich to write a book about Chuck’s theory so a screenplay could be written from the book. Ben already had two books which were made into movies: The Social Network and Bringing Down the House, but this would be Ben’s first book on UFOs. His book about Chuck and his 37^th Degree theory was released on September 6^th, 2016 titled The 37^th Parallel: The Secret Truth Behind America’s UFO Highway. It was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 2 months. But before the book was even written, New Line Cinema/Warner Bros. picked up Ben Mezrich’s book proposal and later purchased an Option Agreement from Chuck. Currently the movie’s screenplay is complete and the studio is shopping for a director and actors.
