In 1968, I was interviewed by a California newspaper reporter who asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told the reporter I wanted to be an asteroid miner. Now, 52 years later, we are on the verge of doing just that. This lecture will describe the current and future technology that is planned for mining asteroids for Earth, and space exploration, and why we need to address this vital subject now. We will explore the spacecrafts, propulsion technologies, and effectors for adding vast amounts of resources to our society without any negative impact on our environment; address the makings of CERN, display and discuss how it works, and what we have discovered so far. We will also discuss a global plan for retasking nuclear power plants with a new, clean energy supply. The visuals are breathtaking and incredibly powerful.
