September 19-20 marks the 63rd Anniversary of the landmark UFO/Abduction case known as The Betty and Barney Hill Incident.
The Betty and Barney Hill incident, which occurred on September 19, 1961, is one of the most famous early abduction cases in UFO history. The Hills, an interracial couple from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, were returning home from a trip to Canada when they encountered a UFO on a remote stretch of highway. They experienced a mysterious lapse in time and reported being taken aboard the craft by extraterrestrial beings. Under hypnosis, they recalled being subjected to medical examinations by the aliens. Their story, initially met with skepticism, became a landmark case in UFO lore and sparked widespread interest in abduction phenomena
This case has all the hallmarks of a classic abduction case as we know it to be today:
· Driving down Dark road
· Light in the sky, Object hovered over their car
· Experience of Missing time
· Report of being taken aboard a “Spaceship”
· Face to Face with “Alien beings” humanoid figures with large eyes
· Medical procedures performed upon them
· Under hypnosis, they recounted their abduction experience in full detail
This is a great landmark case in Ufology. It has all the hallmarks that we often hear about in the community. It was really one of the very first that got a lot of attention. It’s very well documented and the addition of doctors statements and hypnotherapy sessions really helps solidify the seriousness of this case. It’s again, another one of those multiple witness cases, where both parties are sticking to the same story. There is some physical evidence including strange marks on their bodies and there was a strange pink powder found on Bettys dress. There is also the fact that they both experienced psychological distress and trauma following the abduction, which is consistent with the experiences reported by other alleged abductees. Their emotional reactions and behavior changes were well documented by friends, family, and medical professionals. Also, We have Kathleen Marden, their niece, who was around when it happened and is STILL giving her recounts of what happened as well.
